Wright Brennan has been in business since 2010, steadily growing Seawright Roofing into a trusted name for roofing solutions throughout the Midlands. But if you’ve ever sat across from Wright or listened to his podcast, Lost in the Midlands, you know he’s not just fixing shingles; he’s building something much bigger.

We’ve loved partnering with Wright on his rebrand journey—everything from the new Seawright Roofing logo and websites (one for the company and one for the podcast) to branded materials that support his client journey. Our shared belief that actions matter makes our work together effective. Thoughtful branding isn’t just about looking good. It’s about making sure every part of the business communicates clearly and consistently, inside and out.
From the start, he knew he needed a business that matched his energy—something fast-paced, rooted in action, with plenty of time outside and the freedom to shape his day. That alignment gave him a sense of purpose, but it came after trying a few other jobs and positions, finally finding sales. He’s quick to say it’s okay to keep looking until you find a career path that fits. Once you do, it changes everything.
We hope you’ve found the right business! Here are a few other lessons Wright has learned along the way.
1. Know When to Move from Planning to Action

For Wright, strategy is essential, but getting stuck in it is easy. He believes many business owners stay in the planning phase too long because it feels safe. They try to map out every move and avoid all mistakes before taking the first step. But you can’t plan your way out of every problem.
Over time, Wright has learned the value of starting before everything feels perfect. He puts ideas into motion and refines them along the way. That doesn’t mean rushing. Instead, it is recognizing when the planning stage has outlived its usefulness.
🎯 Branding Tip: Strategy without movement leads to diminishing returns. Begin implementing before perfection stalls progress.
2. Don’t Just Accept Feedback—Seek It Out

Wright incorporates feedback into his routine. After each roofing job, he walks the property with the client to close the loop and ask for input. He also has weekly check-ins with his team, where everyone, including himself, is invited to share honest feedback and reveal blind spots. He even relies on specific team members to help him track data—something he knows isn’t his strong suit.
Beyond his internal team, Wright turns to trusted professionals and consultants (like us!) to serve as sounding boards. He sees feedback not as a threat, but as a tool for sharpening what he’s already building.
🎯 Branding Tip: Feedback isn’t a weakness—it’s fuel.
3. Use Your Values to Make the Hard Calls Easier
One of the biggest things we help clients do as creative brand strategists is define their core values, and Wright is a great example of someone using them well. His values were in place when we began his rebrand and continue to help him make fast decisions, especially when things are unclear or challenging.
In his view, there’s often more than one “right” answer in business. A value system allows you to sift through choices and find the best fit for your mission. It helps you move forward, even when it’s uncomfortable.
🎯 Branding Tip: A strong brand starts with clear values. Set yours and let them shape your communication and customer experience.

4. Be Flexible Enough to Grow the Right Way
Adaptability has been a running theme in Wright’s leadership style. He knows that no business journey is linear. He’s faced setbacks, shifts in the market, and growth opportunities that arrived at unexpected times. Instead of resisting those changes, he leans into them.
Sometimes, that means scaling back to stay sustainable. Other times, it means being ready to scale up—but only when it aligns with the brand’s strength and purpose.
🎯 Branding Tip: Stay open to change. Flexibility is the key to growing with confidence, not chaos.

A Bigger Vision, A Stronger Brand
Wright Brennan’s business journey doesn’t end with Seawright Roofing. He’s also the voice behind Lost in the Midlands, a podcast highlighting local change-makers and visionaries across South Carolina. He hosts the Lost in the Fairways Benefit Golf Tournament each year, which supports Make-A-Wish South Carolina.
Whether it’s protecting homes, sharing inspiring stories, or giving back to the community, Wright is looking out for the Midlands and helping you protect the important things. We’re honored to be a small part of it.
So, if you need a roof inspection after those spring storms, call Wright and his team—you’ll be in good hands.
And if you’re a business owner ready to refine your messaging, improve internal communication, and grow with clarity, let’s talk. Through strategic branding and communication coaching, we help leaders like you go from feeling scattered to leading purposefully.
